In today's world the hustle and bustle of life makes most people oblivious to a fleeting shadow that seems to disappear as quickly as it appears. If it is noticed, this phenomenon is dismissed as easily as a hair being seen out of the corner of your eye.

Many of these so called sightings are just an overactive imagination, particularly ones that are reported at night, with glowing red eyes. Some people even claim to have been chased by shadow people. People that claim to have seen shadow people often have a feeling a dread accompanying the phenomenon.

Shadow people are just that, a shadow that appears suddenly and just vanishes. Some claims report that they have a human form; others say they have no form that is recognizable. They seem to lack mass, however they seem to vary from two dimensional objects to a vaporous three dimensional objects.

The paranormal explanation is that there are other dimensions that we share our world with, sometimes these veils that separate our worlds have a thinning in them, or overlap giving them and us fleeting glimpses of the another dimension.

Others believe that these shadow people could possibly be a thought form, made of psychic energy that was created by humans.

Still, others claim that they are aliens, here to study us.

In other cultures they are called a shade, a life flickering out of this life. On the scientific side, however, the phenomenon is explained by simply calling it a hallucination or an optical illusion. Since most people report sightings out of the corner of their eye, in the peripheral area of vision, this is written off as a condition known as pareidolia; that is part of the brain pattern that sees a random pattern of light and shadow and interprets that pattern into a familiar form.

Another accepted conclusion is a condition called hypnogogia, which is that time when you are just waking but the mind is still part way asleep (dream like state of mind).

The list of logical explanations continues with things like drugs, electro magnetic fields, and neurological problems.

There are some pictures of shadow people. Again through science, they can debunk them by saying the photo was developed improperly. Usually, one image being transposed lightly onto another.

Shadow people are not ghosts. A ghost has a form just like shadow people, but you can see details on a ghost. Their faces are clear, their dress distinguishable. They share property, sometimes willingly, sometimes begrudgingly.

Sometimes they try to communicate with us. Shadow people on the other hand do not seem to notice us.

Are shadow people real? For thousands of years there have stories of them. Perhaps there is truth to the theory that we share our time and space with another dimension. They seem to pay as little attention to us as we do to them. Maybe we are walking between two worlds occupying the same space at the same time.

We know now, for a fact, that an electro magnetic field can create a feeling of dread within a person that comes in contact with it. Usually it is due to electrical current running in abundance through old conduit or wiring. These fields are being questioned when there is no electricity in the area. Science is entering the world of spirituality whether it's acceptable to that community or not.

More and more, people are asking questions about things science scoffs at. Groups of serious people are combining forces to study this and other phenomenon. There will always be believers and disbelievers, hoaxes and reality. There are too many unexplained activities in the world to say Shadow people do not exist or any other paranormal activity for that matter. Time are carefully documented works will make this kind of work a science, not just myth or legend hunt.
