Our Equipment
We utilize a wide variety of equipment during our investigations. Each peice of equipment has a specific purpose, which I will outline on this page. If you have any questions about our equipment, or would like to learn more about the specific uses for a particular item, please feel free to contact us.
 | HP Laptop Our laptop is brought on virtually every investigation. Being able to analyze findings in the field makes this an invaluable tool. Additionally, it can be used to collect audio recordings to look for EVPs. It allows us to off load images from the cameras on to the computer, thus allowing us to take more pictures.
 | DVR Mini Camera The Digital Video camera allows us to document an entire investigation from start to finish. It ensures that anything we see on an investigation will be recorded - assuming, of course, that we have the camera pointing toward it. When the digital files are loaded into Audacity, a separate audio track is created allowing us to isolate anomalous segments. We also keep a digital recorder with us when we use the camera to cross-validate any audio clips - a task made easy, as both devices are time indexed.
 | Fuji Digital Camera In contrast to the DVR Camera, our digital camera is used to capture a specific event or moment throughout the investigation. One interesting thing to note about most digital cameras is that they are able to see into the "infrared" and "ultra-violet" range on the light spectrum. If you want something interesting to do, take a picture of the end of your TV remote while pressing a button. You should be able to see the diode illuminated! Pretty cool, huh?
 | Motorola VHF Radio Not every investigation takes place in a controlled environment. Often times we find ourselves getting split up for whatever reason, and it is nice to have an easy way to contact the rest of the group. We chose these radios for their durability. We do have an FCC license and channel, which is required to operate on a VHF frequency.

 | Digital Infrared Thermometer W/ Laser One of the popular theories surrounding ghosts are that they will try to draw energy in from around them to manifest. This is often felt in the form of a "cold spot" which is essentially an area that is colder than the room's ambient temperature. This specific thermometer is nice because it has a laser sight, which lets us pin point exactly where the cold spot is.
 | Electromagnetic Field Detector Everything has an EM field. Your body, your shoes, even a rock in your back yard. One theory is that ghosts will manifest, or otherwise manipulate these magnetic fields allowing you to view that variance on your EMF meter. That being said, however, it is important to note that a majority of EM fields we encounter are caused by natural sources. For example, exposed or faulty wiring may be present. We may too close to electronic devices. Generally, we take a "baseline" reading of the room and identify all EMF hot spots. We try to find the "least active" part of the room, and conduct our EMF gathering there. What we try to look for are spikes that have no apparent cause - these may be caused by a spirit.
 | K2 EMF Meter The K2 meter is one of the most interesting peices of equipment I have ever come across. Like the above device, it is an EMF meter, but with a twist! Our model has a modified power switch which allows us to keep it active without having to apply pressure to the switch. We always try to use this tool in conjuction with a digital audio recorder when we do EVP sessions. It is kind of interesting to watch the bright LED indicators when you ask questions.
 | Gauss Master This is a standard EMF meter just like the two above. This was actually our first peice of equipment, and it has seen some really good times! Although we paid <$20.00 for it, this device performs on par with our digital model. The "sqawk" it makes when we encounter a field is really nice in low light conditions. If you are just starting out in the field, I would strongly recommend this meter to you!
 | Olympus Digital Recorder After three years of using the analog cassette recorders, we decided that, much in the way of television, it was time to make the switch to digital! I really like this specific model, as it is time indexed which allows us to cross-index sound clips. Overall, great meter..great price..and great battery life.
