Hi Brina, I believe "Egregores" is the appropriate term. In general they are watchers; thought-form entities created by visualization, ritual and such. They come in collective groups. They are somewhat like angels, except that they are relatively mindless and quite willing to follow orders.

Why?

The reason I ask is because from the time I was a small child I have had this thing follow me. I am 27 years old and until last June I had never told anyone. Last summer I spoke to a woman who had a degree in the paranormal and told her about these experiences and she told me what it was and that I needed to name it then get rid of it. The thing that bothered me the most is there are a few other people who have seen it before I ever told anyone about it. It has appeared even when I have lived in several different homes. So I've been researching this thing for a while now and I was wanting information to learn more about what it is.

Can you describe some of things that this entity does? Generally, "egregores" are considered benign, astral entities. If it is causing you problems, it could very well be a more sinister being that is intentionally disguising itself.

I really hope we can help you resolve this problem. :)

Do you live in or near WV?

Sounds to me like you may have a clingy spirit or even a demonic entity, those are what really stick with you.

It sounds like you might be being followed by a demonic entity. The group's leader (Dave Bieniek) wrote a book on ghost hunting.

Did you ever experiment with the occult or black arts?

I found this page when I searched for Egregores: http://www.lkwdpl.org/wildideas/archegre.html

I think you are either dealing with a demon or perhaps a mean spirited human entity. These egregores are basically harmless thoughts that have somehow became "real".

Well it really doesn't do much of anything. It just stands in the corner of my room, at the foot of my bed, and one night I swear was floating over top of me starring into my eyes when I awoke. When I was a child around 5 to 9 years old it was in the form of a very large black dog and at night it would lay beside my bed. I of course being a child was terrified. It never did anything just lay there and watch me. Then one day it was gone. When I was 15 it appeared again in the form of a man. It is very tall I would say around 7 feet, long straight black hair, very slender, pale, with black eyes like there are actually no eyes there. It also has very long black wings. I would say almost like a crows wings. It doesn't terrify me or scare me much anymore, it just bothers me because I don't understand why it is there. I used to be into "witch craft" pretty heavily, I've used spirit boards but was taught how to seal the doorway, and have always had very strange paranormal experiences. I've been researching things for a very long time to get answers to what this may be but I've never really found the answer. I've had people who were familiar with the paranormal tell me to communicate with it others tell me not to, I've been told to destroy it because it could be something that I created as a child, and others say leave it alone. I do notice that it is around more often at certain times than others. I also wonder if it is linked to my family somehow because my younger sister who is 4 yrs old lives almost 100 miles away from me has seen it also and can describe it to a T. I don't feel threatened by it and in 20 years it has never caused me any problems except unnerving me.

Brina, it sounds like, to me, that the psychological ramifications in and of itself is more than enough to consider that this entity is causing you some variable degree of distress.

The woman that I spoke to before gave me a "recipe" for Holy Water but I never tried it because I am kind of skeptical about a person being able to make Holy Water. I've tried communicating with it and nothing. I've tried the whole "In the name of the father, son, and holy ghost." I've placed crosses above the doorway and windows. I've even used Angelic Banishing spell and ones to rid oneself of bothersome spirits. I also acquired St. Christopher metals. I would just like to know what it is and why it is here. If it is harmless I don't want to do anything to destroy it. But if it is something harmful I don't want it to linger around. I don't think it is demonic by any means or the things I have done would have sent it away or angered it.

I was looking through some of the books on my shelf, and I have devised a couple of theories. But, before I go over them, I'd like to ask you something.

Do you feel unusually tired, specifically when this being is around?

Also, have you ever noticed anything physically unusual (besides the wings and pale skin)? Such as teeth variations (sharp, dull, etc), deformities in the hands/feet or any unusual bony processes?

What is he/she usually wearing?

I'm usually have a lot of energy when it is around. It's like I get wired and had 20 cups of coffee. I've never seen teeth of any kind but his lips are dark, not like black but darker than the rest of him. I wouldn't consider it bony but very slender, high cheekbones very defined, kind of a long face, and somewhat large oval eyes. The nose is very slender almost like there is not one just a shadow of one. It has long bony slender hands, long fingers, and long nails. I'm not really sure what it is wearing, it almost looks like a cloak with sleeves draped over it without a hood. My cousin who seen it said that if he didn't know better the first thought that came to his mind was Vampire.

Brina, your cousin may be on to something. From what I've read compared to your description, it may be what is known as a "psychic vampire." However, in your case, instead of draining your energy, it is feeding it. Perhaps you are, in some way, able to "see" a physical representation of your inner astral self (the way psychic vampires work).

That would explain the appearance. Clearly, the "astral body" itself is something beyond our comprehension. Therefore, what you are seeing is likely your mind's way of interpreting something it doesn't understand by applying the stereotypical vampire image to it.

This theory could also explain why you feel so energetic when you see it: you are unknowingly "sucking" the energy from other people.

For more information on psychic vampires, check out this about.com article: http://healing.about.com/od/energyhealing/a/psivamps.htm

It's just a theory, but one certainly worth checking into.

Either way, I think you should really try to study this as much as possible.

That is so weird to me that you say that. I've had a lot of people tell me that I drain them and even a relationship ended because of this. My ex would tell me he couldn't be around me because I drain his energy. I can be around my mother for 15 minutes and she gets tired and usually falls asleep. She has told me for years that I drain her. I've also noticed that I cannot be around large groups of people or even certain people because it sucks the life out of me and I will sleep for over 14 hours at a time. I will have to research more about this, I am very interested now.

That's very interesting and I think Dave's explanation really does fit what is going on here  Can you control what it does at all?

It doesn't do anything but stand and stare at me sometimes from the corner of the room, at the foot of my bed, one night I woke to it hovering over me, and one night it actually opened its wings. I have a cousin that used to stay at my apartment and babysit who swears that it has attacked him. I've never had it really do much of anything and I have tried to communicate with it but nothing has ever came from that.

Brina I have to admit, this truly does sound creepy! However, at the moment, the "astral vampire" theory is the only one that seems to fit all of the descriptions you provided.

So if this is what it is, is it dangerous, is there anything I can do to prevent any harm, and in all what should I do?

Well, that is the tricky part. For some reason or another, this "thing" is attached to you. Whether it chose you or you chose it, something is there. Regardless of how it became attached, I think it is very important that we make a definitive decision as to what this thing is before we decide on a prudent course of action.

http://www.whitedragon.org.uk/articles/vampyres.htm

I'd suggest reading up a little bit there, and see if any of this hits home with you. If that doesn't resolve it, I think we need to take a look at you and see what kind of measurable activity sprouts up around you. All in all, something interesting is going on here!

To answer your second question, no, I don't believe you are in any danger at the present time. :)

I dont really believe in psychic vampires or demons. I think what you are seeing may be a subconcious signal of something

They say on of the easiest ways to get rid of a psychic vampire is to simply believe it can no longer hurt you. Never put it to the test though

brina From how you first described it, that is really did nothing but watch you, always looking at you. Could it be Possible it's actually something that is protecting you? "Guardian Angles" aren't always white with wings like people are taught.

I've never thought of it as a guardian angel. As for protecting me from something I have wondered about that because it was gone for a long time when I was a child I would say from 9 until I was 15. When I was 15 I started dating a close friend of my cousin's. It was a few months after that when it reappeared. As I got older and we had moved in together at night this thing would stand at the foot of my bed whenever he would sleep in it. It got to the point he slept on the couch because he was afraid to sleep in the bed. My cousin swears it attacked him one night while he was staying over night to babysit my kids while I was at work. Of course he slept in my bed and he said it came from the closet. Still to this very day when the father of my children is around me I see it more often. I think it hates him because if the way he has treated me.
