The Haunting of Crazy Jack

Okay, I live on 250 acres. There is a long old dirt road that runs through our land, Its an old wagon trail.
We use it now to drive the tractor on and ride horses. There is an old barn once a house thats about 150 years old which is in Haunted Hollow.
The story of Haunted Hollow is thats where Crazy Jack hung out many years ago, He wolud hide behind bushes and trees and scare
the lone riders that came through, he would jump out at them and scare the horse. The rider would fall off or Jack would push them off.
He then would steal the Horse or the goods off the horse. He would usually steal the horse and ride off then hide the goods. He was crazy they say..
The local farmers and ranchers got fed up with him and ban together to rid everyone of his trouble. A lone rider came through and tricked him. He jumped out to steal the horse and the rider hit him on the head knocking him out. All the farmers and locals gathered together and when he come too he was sitting backwards on a horse with a noose around his neck. They asked him what did he have to say for him self?
Nothing he yelled, Not a dang thing, but I will come back to haunt this place. I will make sure no rider can come through here. I will scare your horses so you can't travel this way again. They slapped the horse on the a$$ and Crazy Jack was hung.

In Haunted Hollow there is a very ugly tree that I believe he hung from. The old road goes through a place that is very creepy. And believe me My horse does spook through there often. There is an unmarked grave about 150 yards from the hanging tree.

Is this real? I believe it is. I have lived here all my life and my 98 year old grandfather told me that His Dad told him the story of Crazy Jack.
I am not sure if anyone else even knows about this anymore but I feel its a great stroy to keep alive for my family.
I will post pictures of the Hanging tree and Haunted Hollow Later.
Tell me what you think?

Even if this was a wives tale - An assortment of superstition, old wives' tales, misinformation, and mistaken beliefs. It is still one to pass down for generations. You have so much land, an old wagon
trail , I bet many things have happened in your woods .

That sounds like a good story, one that very well could have occurred at some point in history. Have you ever considered asking some of the "neighbors" about it?

Awesome story thanks for sharing. I agree with bob88, its a fantastic family story to have, if nothing else. But usually these things are based in some, or start from some factual occurrence.

I would love to see pictures! :)

Did anything weird or out of the ordinary ever happen to back there?

I have had weird feelings, but that is about it..

Here is pictures of Haunted Hollows wagon trail, the old house now barn in haunted hollow, and the Hanging tree.

the largest branch on the left side is the branch believed to have held the noose. Its just a creepy looking tree. Up close it is just huge. Me and my two boys can lean up against the trunk facing the same way.

Haunted Hollow is a spooky place too. you can see the old trail now used as a tractor path and horse riding trail. My boys ride 4 wheelers on it all the time.

The orb pictures were taken just west of the old barn.

Nice pictures UFO!

I know you mentioned that you get a creepy feeling back there, but could you elaborate a little more on that?

I can almost feel the creepy/overbearing atmosphere there. You should take an EMF detector out there one night.

I have heard that too raven. They are very intuitive animals and tend to react quite strongly to what they don't understand.

This is the sort of story to take to the local historical society.
Their people will be able to help you look up the records and any news accounts from that period about the event.

From my limited experience horses tend to spook at a LOT of things, not just paranormal stuff.
a piece of paper blown in the wind, a rabbit startled out of the grass... stuff like that can spook a horse, even if the human rider doesn't see it.

Really depends on the horse - Im not an expert but have owned horses over time and have found more times than not if a horse has been raised well they are pretty grounded and sensible.....and they certainly dont like what they dont like lol

Oh I know about the horses being spooky! But in this area she just tends to be a little more frightened. It may be that the Hollow is dark and a lot of trees follow the road. There is a creek that runs on the north side of the road.

I will have to check in on the local historical society.

The pictures are really neat and old. Must have a lot of history behind the land and even the barn for sure.

I have been around many horses growing up, I agree that some will spook more easily than others.. Like humans

A lot's been going on around here. I went into Haunted Hollow lastnight.

I asked if this place was Crazy Jacks, waited for a response and WOW I heard a creepy sound like a moan or growl. I summed it up as a wild animal but I am not for sure.

Still haven't checked the history yet but plan on it.

I still have a creepy ghost in my house though and it could be crazy Jack! Haunted hollow is only a bit behind the house.

I had the compelling evidence lastnight too, I was reading a Mag on the couch and was looking toward the bedroom and my office is set up in our bedroom, anyway I always leave a table lamp on so it cast a light on the bedroom door!

I looked up and saw a mans shape a shadow walk through the doorway! It was cast on the bedroom door. I jumped up and pointed, by the time I looked it was gone. It didn't have a neck, it just looked like a head and body.
Creepy!
oh well all I can say is we do a lot of praying around here.

Azelin, You are right about it being scary. It is getting to the point that I want to call ghost adventures or ghost hunters maybe.

My son told me just last night he heard voices in his room. I hear things almost every night.

The funny thing is that I usually never see anything, I hear it but I don't see it.

I am not sure how to take all this stuff.

I don't feel like its evil but I sure don't like knowig that there is something hear that doesn't belong.

I have done the prayers and speaking the name of the Lord but it is still hear so I don't think it is a demon but why the dark figures?

That's a great story, I got kinda spooked just by reading it and looking at the pictures.
But I love 'creepy' things and I think it'd be great to live out there.
I believe in things like this, so yes I do say I'd believe it. Haha.
Thanks for sharing!

UFO, I certainly agree with you in your belief that you are not dealing with a demonic entity.

It sounds like you are dealing with an entity known as a "shadow person." These beings are often associated with negative feelings, and take a form such as the one you described.

Despite the eerie feelings, these types are usually benign.

Try taking a couple of pictures or an EVP recording and let us know how it turns out!
