Since 2004, the West Virginia Paranormal Society has employed some of the most knowledgeable and dedicated investigators in the field. We believe in using hard science to diagnose and research potential spirit activity. Because of this scientific approach, we do not factor claims of "mediumistic" abilities when collecting or analyzing evidence.

We take our work very seriously, and feel that without science, there will be no measurable way to objectively record and document paranormal phenomena. Having ghostly activity occur is one thing; being able to study it under semi-controlled conditions is another. We firmly believe that a consistent approach is required for true research. Hearing a disembodied voice on tape (EVP) is exciting, but what good is it without some way to quantify or compare this with other evidence?

So you're still interested in joining the West Virginia Paranormal Society? We have a variety of roles and positions available to qualified individuals seeking to further our goal of paranormal study. The current openings are listed below.

Open Positions

Field Investigator
The Field Investigator conducts paranormal research alone or with a group. He or she is responsible for interviewing clients, setting up equipment and conducting a paranormal investigation according to the guidelines set forth by the handbook. Applicant should have completed at least (5) investigations during their probationary period with the WVPS or similar group. All applications should have some verifiable experience using the equpiment we use. All field investigators must be at least 18 years old at the time of application.

Probationary Field Investigator
The Probationary Field Investigator conducts paranormal research with a regular Field Investigator or a group. He or she is responsible for assisting with the interview of clients and setting up equipment. Application must be 18 years old, and should have prior knowledge of paranormal topics.
